Meat dumplings with panela sauce


For the meatballs: 5 pieces of pork meat, 2 slices of bread without crusts, 1 egg, 1 onion divided into small pieces, oregano, salt, pepper, flour and half a well of melted butter.

For the panelazo sauce we need 2 cups of tomato sauce, chili pepper, half of panela soup dissolved in water (molasses) and a quarter of soy sauce.


1. First you have to start preheating the oven at medium-high temperature. Then at a rate mix meat, bread, egg, onion and oregano. Knead until all ingredients are well combined and season with salt and pepper. If the mixture is very soft, add more bread. The most important thing is to put abundant in the hands to form small balls of 3 cm in diameter to create the meatballs.

2. In a pan, place the meatballs, where the butter has previously melted and cook for 15 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked and lightly browned. It is important to keep them in constant motion so that they are brown on all sides and do not burn.

3. Meanwhile in another pot we can prepare the sauce. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and bring them to a boil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 1 minute more and remove the food from the fire. Finally we should serve the meatballs in small plates, sprinkle with some tomato sauce and let the panela fall evenly through all the balls of meat or meatballs. Whatever we call them, believe me, the taste is exquisite thanks to the panelazo.
